Early Learning Support Program

Prevent Child Abuse Rockdale/Newton is working with community partners to increase access to high quality early childhood programs for dual language learners which enhances overall family functioning and increases the stability of families. This program provides an in-home, bi-lingual, Care Navigator who works with the family and community partners to help address the barriers to pre-school programs, such as lack of transportation. 
 

Educational Support Program 

Provides an Educational Support Coordinator who serves as a liaison between families and their child’s teacher and Student Success Coaches who work one-on-one with students each week. (We are working hard to help children get back on track after getting behind in their studies as a result of the pandemic). This program strengthens family engagement while providing educational supports, advocacy, mentoring, resources, and referrals. (English & Spanish).

 

Family Success Center 

Provides concrete resources to families who we are working with at local elementary schools through our Educational Support Program who are in need of assistance. We provide parents with in-home parenting programs and access to our Family Success Center. We engage families with free, Family Fun Days in their neighborhoods with music, bouncy houses, face painting, hot dogs, and hamburgers. 

 

First Steps

First Steps is a parenting support and education program that is provided to families of newborns who give birth at Rockdale Medical Center. Our First Steps Coordinator offers new parents emotional support, current parenting information and referrals to vital community resources. First Steps strives to strengthen healthy parent/child relationships and to promote the healthy growth and development of children.

Rockdale & Newton Parent Support Programs

Intensive, weekly home-based parenting programs for parents of children ages 0 -5 for 3 – 6 months. Our Parent Support Coordinators help support young families by providing evidence-based parenting curriculum. Services include Case Management, Advocacy, Mentoring, and Educational Support. We add layers of support by providing Life Skills Classes and Resources and Referrals (education, housing, job search, baby beds, toiletries, diapers and anything the family needs to become self-sufficient).
